The spirit of creativity was alive and thriving on Saturday, May 24, 2025, as the Optimist Club of Newmarket hosted its Annual Art Show — a true celebration of youthful imagination and artistic expression! With doors open to the public, families, friends, and art lovers alike were invited to view an impressive gallery display showcasing the incredible talent of local young artists.
This year’s event was extra special, as the awards were doubled across all four artistic categories: Painting, Drawing, Photography, and Mixed Media. In each category, three outstanding winners were chosen:
🏆 1st Place – $200
🥈 2nd Place – $100
🥉 3rd Place – $50
Among the hundreds of remarkable entries, Sacred Heart Catholic High School’s Media Arts program had many reasons to cheer! Paris K. placed 3rd, and Yaroslava T. took home 1st Place in the Mixed Media category, showcasing not only their unique creative voices but also the strength and excellence of our Media Arts program. We are so proud of their achievements!
Since 1949, the Optimist Club of Newmarket has been dedicated to empowering youth through a wide range of engaging programs, fundraising efforts, and community initiatives that foster leadership, values, and personal growth. This spirited, inclusive volunteer organization brings together diverse members united by a shared passion for making a positive impact in the lives of young people and creating a stronger, more vibrant community. More importantly, events like this art show enable the club to continue providing meaningful opportunities for young people to shine, build confidence, and pursue their passions.
A huge congratulations to all the artists who participated—you’ve inspired us with your vision, talent, and bold creativity. And to our winners: bravo! You’ve made Sacred Heart proud.
