Gr. 11 Digital Dreamscape Project

The “Digital Dreamscape” project in the Grade 11 Media Arts curriculum draws inspiration from Surrealism and the Psycho-Analytic theories of Sigmund Freud. Over two weeks, students will engage in dream documentation and digital art creation. They will maintain a two-week dream journal, recording their dreams in detail, serving as the basis for their digital artworks. Using Adobe Photoshop, students will translate their recorded dreams into visually compelling digital pieces, exploring themes of the subconscious, symbolism, and surrealistic imagery. The project aims to foster creativity, technical skills in digital artistry, and an understanding of the psychological dimensions of artistic expression. Through presentations and critiques, students will showcase their interpretations of their dreams, reflecting on the intersection of art and the unconscious mind.
