CPT: Digital Portfolio or Uniform Poster Re-Design

OPTION # 1 (Printed Portfolio)
For the final project of the year, you are given two options to complete your CPT. At the beginning of the year, we have discussed creating a portfolio (the one you intend to use for post-secondary applications). This will be option # 1. Since not everyone will require or want to make one, another project will be afforded to those who doesn’t need a portfolio.

A creative portfolio is a collection of your creative work. It must include write-ups and information about the work you are putting together, in an effort to exhibit your progression as well as your creative thought processes to anyone assessing your application.

To give you some guidelines, I suggest you start here. This PDF book called, “Flaunt” which is published by Under Consideration contains a comprehensive list of contemporary portfolios that you can use as sources of inspiration. Feel free to include your strongest work as well as pieces you’ve completed in years past as well as pieces you’ve completed outside of the class. Diversity is key so include as many different types of media as possible. Your work in grade 11 or other pieces from art class (Saturday class) can also be used as content for your Portfolio CPT. Please ask Mr. Galang for details.

Additional Details

  1. Your portfolio must have and 11″ x 14″ document size (this is size of our paper)
  2. For each piece, you must have 2 pages for it. The left side should include things like sketches, process stuff, title, dimensions, media and a brief write-up (max. 100 words).
  3. You can use the logo you designed for project # 1. You can also include the logo in your footer master pages (although page #s are not necessary).
  4. If you need this CPT printed (for university / college submission, it will cost $2 / page. This covers our printing costs. You are also responsible for providing your own portfolio cases).

OPTION # 2 (Uniform Poster Re-Design)
Should you choose not to pursue a portfolio option, you are also welcome to opt into the 2nd option (which is a re-design option). As you may or may not know, our school recently released uniform guidelines and as much as the content drew the ire of the student body, the poster design itself proved to be more problematic.

Should you choose this option, you are required to re-design this poster and use as much of the written content as possible. You are allowed to use your own photos as well (this is encouraged). All the necessary graphics such as school logos, written content and other materials will be provided to you. You must create a 2-page legal sized documents in InDesign. You must also use Photoshop and Illustrator complete this CPT.

DUE DATE: The due date for the CPT is Monday, January 29th.
