		<description><![CDATA[In a world where digital technology can perfectly reproduce anyone&#039;s work there are two useful responses IMHO. Firstly, whatever we do must have our voice in it. It must be so uniquely ours that anyone will know that those ideas could only possibly come from us and no one else. Our work, in whatever we do, must be an expression of our essential self. Secondly we must be continually evolving and developing what we do. If I&#039;m always moving on it&#039;s whatever I&#039;m doing now has the most value, not a reproduction of what I used to do. It&#039;s in developing these skills that I think creative arts have the greatest value for our students. In helping them tap into their innate creativity and develop the skills in whatever medium they need to make sure that whatever they do they are expressing their inner self and pushing the boundaries of their understanding. In the same way that math isn&#039;t about producing mathematicians (&quot;when will I ever use fractions?&quot;) but is about training a mind in a way to think that is useful and necessary, so is the relevance of creative arts to students.
